We process personal data under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and its implementing rules. Where you are resident in the European Economic Area, we also apply the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which reaches us because we offer services to data subjects in the Union.
What data we process
Only what you enter in the form: full name, email address, telephone number and the description of your matter that you choose to share. We ask for nothing else, and we recommend that you do not include sensitive information or confidential documents before a professional engagement is in place.
Why we process it
Solely to respond to your request: to make a preliminary assessment of the situation you describe, to reply to you and, where appropriate, to arrange an initial consultation. We do not use your data to send marketing unrelated to that request, and we do not build profiles from it.
Lawful basis
Processing rests on your consent, which you give expressly by ticking the box on the form before sending it. You may withdraw it at any time by writing to Info@marebotax.com, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand. If your enquiry leads to an engagement, later processing rests on the performance of that contract and on our legal obligations.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and, afterwards, for a reasonable period so that we can show the enquiry was properly handled. Where an engagement follows, data is kept for its duration and, once it ends, for two separate periods:
- Customer due diligence and anti money laundering records: ten years from the end of the engagement, under Spanish Law 10/2010 of 28 April on the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. Marebo Tax Boutique Limited is an obliged entity under that law (Article 2.1.m) and, in the United Arab Emirates, under the rules applying to designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBP).
- Other engagement data: for the limitation periods applying to tax obligations and to civil claims that may arise from the professional relationship.
Who receives it
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own purposes. Access is limited to the providers that supply our technical services, such as web hosting and email, acting as processors under contract and bound to follow our instructions. Beyond that, data may be disclosed to public authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Marebo Tax Boutique Limited is established in the United Arab Emirates. For users in the European Economic Area, processing therefore involves a transfer outside the EEA. That transfer is necessary to deal with your request and, where applicable, to provide the service you engage, and is made with the safeguards provided for in the GDPR. Your rights
You may ask us at any time for access to your data, for its correction or deletion, and for restriction of or objection to processing, as well as for portability. Write to Info@marebotax.com stating which right you wish to exercise. We will reply within the periods set by the applicable rules.
If you are in the European Union and believe your request has not been handled properly, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
